Things did not come easy in life for Aaron Copeland. Growing up the 3rd of four children in a middle class blue collar working family, early in grade school he was faced with challenges of being misunderstood, recognized as having behavioral issues, overly inquisitive and disruptive in class. All these accusations created a profile of a young man that requires Special Education during those times the public school system simply did not have the resources to properly assess Aaron nor were they equipped with the adequate resources to handle his needs.
That experience gave Aaron a compassion for helping kids with special needs. More than that, it taught him the importance of connecting the right staff in education, social services and healthcare with people in need. In 1998, after owning a successful CPA practice, Aaron founded alignstaffing on the principle of aligning talented candidates with the top companies in the Washington, D.C. area.
The organization’s roots were established by helping D.C. public charter schools that were struggling to find qualified behavioral health specialists who could provide care to students with special needs. Even at the outset, the focus was on finding mature and knowledgeable team members who could bring an unprecedented level of expertise to clients.
Although we’ve grown to a multi-location recruiting firm, we never forget the guiding principles that shaped our journey – expertise, simplicity, commitment, and perhaps, most important, quality of life for our clients, staff, partners and community. From our employees to our clients, from the candidates we place to our community, we strive to create a positive and remarkable experience to all those we serve.
