But when you work as a registered nurse, or as any nurse, you are expected to be on call. Whenever you’re on call, put your smartphone away so you won’t get distracted. The more efficient and engaged you are, not only will you be able to interact with more patients, but you’ll also be able to give them better care.

Whenever you work as a registered nurse, you shouldn’t hesitate to get any help you need. Perhaps you are a travel nurse, and you’re in a new city. You might be working for at least the next twelve hours, but coming into work fifteen or twenty minutes before you are scheduled can give you more time to compose yourself. Take some deep breaths and establish a plan for what you want to accomplish that day. By staying organized, you can also improve your mood and self-confidence, not to mention improve your efficiency.
